Every picture of Holland that I saw as a child on the “armchair adventure travelogs” that I watched with my Grandfather on our black and white television could not prepare me for the beauty of the tulips in every imaginable color and the sheer scale and genius of the windmills.

Amsterdam is a kaleidoscope of of color and texture. Cobblestones and the brackish canal water, window boxes exploding with flowers, miles of bicycles and the most beautiful people I’ve ever seen!

I was moved to tears visiting Anne Frank house and absolutely blown away in the Rijksmuseum seeing the huge painting that was used to grace the very small Dutch Master cigar boxes!
